About us

Soccerplus was opened by David and Annette Byrne in April 2006 and was first located in a tiny shop on Guelph St. in Georgetown. As a lifelong player and supporter of soccer, David recognized the need for a local store as he always had to shop outside of town for his soccer gear. It was time for a change and Dave decided to leave his career in corporate sales and take a chance on starting a business that combined his sales expertise and his passion for the sport.

In five short years, the business has grown dramatically. So much so that in February 2010 Soccerplus moved its location to a much larger store around the corner at 360 Guelph Street in Georgetown. This new space allows them to offer an excellent selection of top quality soccer equipment, supplies, and apparel at great prices. In addition to retail products and discount team sales they offer heat pressing, screen printing, embroidery and logo design services. David, Annette, and their family are longtime residents of Georgetown and are thrilled to live and work in a town they love. Every spring they look forward to the start of another busy soccer season and the opportunity to serve you.

David had been active in local soccer through years of coaching and playing. He is very involved in the development of the town's youth soccer programs and in 2007 he obtained his Provincial "B" coaching license from the Ontario Soccer Association. As a player David has made a life time of connections with other soccer lovers near and far. The people of Georgetown and the surrounding soccer communities have shown overwhelming support for the new store. In their second year Soccerplus won its first large club uniform contract and has built a reputation for excellent, personal, and attentive customer service. Today Soccerplus supplies uniforms to three large clubs and numerous independent teams.
